The Woodcreek Timberwolves will square off against the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
With a playoff game on the line, Woodcreek rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Lancers onto the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering Woodcreek has won six games by more than three goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Granite Bay made sure to put some goals up on the board against Rodriguez on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 4-0 win.
Granite Bay hit Rodriguez with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
M Newlin,
C Krouse,
E Griffin, and
T Ferguson.
Woodcreek pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those seven games. As for Granite Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-5.
Woodcreek suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Granite Bay in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can Woodcreek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
