Leading Walnut to victory were Claire Olia and Katelyn Lu. Olia almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Lu almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Olia scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Maileeh Suasti, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
South Hills has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season. As for Walnut, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.
South Hills will head out on the road to square off against the Brahmas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Diamond Bar will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Walnut, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Los Altos is ranked 303rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 327th).
