South Tahoe is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Truckee: they outscored them in every quarter. South Tahoe put the hurt on Truckee with a sharp 42-22 victory on Tuesday. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Avery Long had an outrageously good game as she almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Carly Cox, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals.
South Tahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 19 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Hug played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against North Valleys, falling 46-24. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.
South Tahoe will have to contain Cori Carrier as she made an impact in Hug's last game. She put up 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Carrier is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Amiah Ahonima was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten boards and 11 blocks.
South Tahoe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Hug, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Tahoe has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 38.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hug struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for South Tahoe against Hug in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured a 49-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Tahoe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
