Last Thursday, San Bernardino strolled past Jurupa Valley with points to spare, taking the game 44-26. Given San Bernardino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while Jurupa Valley is ranked 1229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
San Bernardino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laniah Porter led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Porter has scored at least 25% of San Bernardino's points. Emonnie Allen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Santa Rosa Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past California Military Institute 52-16 at home.
San Bernardino's record now sits at 6-4. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
