Kings Christian is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Wonderful College Prep Academy a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Kings Christian Crusaders will be playing at home against the Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves at 4:15 p.m. Kings Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Wonderful College Prep Academy likes a good challenge.
Kings Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Laton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Mustangs on Friday.

Haiden Kelso
04/04/25 @ Laton | 8 |
03/28/25 @ Alpaugh | 6 |
02/27/25 @ Summit Charter Collegiate Academy | 6 |
03/21/25 @ Farmersville | 4 |
03/07/25 vs McLane | 4 |
Haiden Kelso made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Kings Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-6-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Jasiah Zamaripa and Caiden Irwin did most of the damage at the plate: Zamaripa scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances, while Irwin got on base in four of his seven plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Kings Christian is undefeated when Irwin posts two or more runs, but 1-7-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Rusty Martin, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances.
Kings Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Wonderful College Prep Academy and Summit Charter Collegiate Academy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Wolves lost 10-4 to the Bears.
Wonderful College Prep Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Ruiz, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Ruiz's first of the season. Isreal Milanes was another, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.
Wonderful College Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Kings Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kings Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wonderful College Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kings Christian couldn't quite finish off Wonderful College Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
