Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Canyon Hills' Fourth in Last Five Outings

If Coronado wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Canyon Hills, they should've done a better job of containing Sophia Wilson. The Canyon Hills Rattlers walked away with a 45-34 victory over the Coronado Islanders on Tuesday thanks in part to Wilson, who went 7 for 9 en route to 15 points and three steals. Those 15 points gave her a new career-high.

Several Islanders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabby Fichter, who posted 16 points. Fichter is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Albin, who put up ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Canyon Hills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.

Canyon Hills has already played their next match, a 23-16 win against Mission Bay on the 24th. As for Coronado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-12 victory against Clairemont on the 24th.
