Basketball Recap: Nerissa Hamilton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grant over Antelope

After flying high against West Park last Monday, Grant came back down to earth. The Grant Pacers took an 84-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Antelope Titans on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Pacers in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost three in a row.

Several Pacers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nerissa Hamilton, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jalaysia Clements, who earned 13 points along with six assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Grant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Antelope got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Londyn Odom out in front who had 20 points. Izabella Siegler was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Antelope, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Grant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 82-39 loss against McClatchy on the 17th. Antelope has also already played their next match, a 60-40 victory against Kennedy on the 21st.
