If the Blount Leopards were feeling good off their 84-46 takedown of the White Plains Wildcats on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Blount took a serious blow against Mountain Brook on Saturday, falling 98-53. While losing is never fun, Blount can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Mountain Brook is ranked third).
Despite the loss, Blount saw an underclassman step up: Jaiden Beck scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Javarous White, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Blount's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Mountain Brook, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Blount will be playing at home against Williamson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Brook, they will head out on the road to face off against Chelsea at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
