The Pasadena Bulldogs will take on the Muir Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on May 5. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
Pasadena barely beat Glendale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Nitros a 6-0 shutout on Saturday.

Pasadena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Derosier, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Derosier has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12-1 otherwise.
Muir came out on top against Hoover on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tornados with a sharp 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Conrad Hunziker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luca Cano, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Arturo Ayers, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Muir was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoover only posted a batting average of .185.
Pasadena's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Muir, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
Pasadena beat Muir 7-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
