After soaring to 55 points the game before, the Chavez Titans were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lindsay. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chavez has scored all season.
Brianna Jara continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lindsay, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Jara has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Navarro, who scored six points.
Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Lindsay, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chavez and Shafter will face off at 6:15 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shafter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chavez in California (Shafter is ranked 233rd, while Chavez is ranked 872nd). Lindsay and Summit Charter Collegiate Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
