Dunn proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 16) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Coastal Christian Conquerors 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Earwigs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Hudson Von Der Lieth was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Burry, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Dunn's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Coastal Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Dunn and Coastal Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Earwigs see the field they'll take on Bishop Diego at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Coastal Christian, their break will end when they face Shandon at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th.
