Basketball Recap: Globe Starts Season with Win on the Road

Globe had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past the Superior Panthers with a 64-60 win on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Ryland Duarte, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Duarte has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Antonio Lopez was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Coming up, Globe will be playing in front of their home fans against San Carlos at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Superior, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Apache Junction at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
