The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders and the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders had to settle for second. Mayer Lutheran suffered a rough 28-6 defeat at the hands of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. Mayer Lutheran's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Even if they lost, Mayer Lutheran's defense sure didn't make it easy: Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's QB was sacked six times before it was all said and done. Michael Woestehoff was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself.
Mayer Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Mayer Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Minneota. Minneota is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
