The San Diego Cavers were the 36-33 winner over the Granite Hills Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with San Diego falling 48-33.
Several Cavers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shanti Glenn, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Glenn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Lara Saucedo was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granite Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kerstena Tomika, who scored 16 points. Tomika is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Khaley Kaesser, who scored 11 points.
San Diego's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Granite Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Diego will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against University City at 6:15 p.m. on January 16th. Granite Hills won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Mount Miguel is on a five-game streak of home losses, Granite Hills a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
