The Hempfield Black Knights lost against the Red Lion Lions back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hempfield lost to Red Lion at home by a decisive 65-50 margin. Hempfield has struggled against Red Lion recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Red Lion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan Smith, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Red Lion's points. Another player making a difference was Julia Sedora, who scored 13 points along with five steals and four blocks.
Hempfield bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Red Lion, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hempfield will face off against Penn Manor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Penn Manor comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Red Lion's road trip will continue as they head out to face New Oxford at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th.
