It was a good run, but the Strathmore Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 51-43 to Corcoran. Strathmore has not had much luck with Corcoran recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading Corcoran to victory were Katalina Castillo and Zoee Cabral. Castillo dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds, while Cabral scored 24 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cabral has scored all season. Emilee Santos was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six assists.
Strathmore's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Corcoran, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Strathmore will head out on the road to take on Granite Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Granite Hills: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Strathmore has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Corcoran will take on Woodlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodlake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1118th, while Corcoran is ranked 512th).
