Oak Hill Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Washington, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Raiders blew past the Generals 11-2 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kaelyn Pennington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Oak Hill Academy got a massive performance out of Sally Rhea Chaney, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Oak Hill Academy moved to 9-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
