The Laton Mustangs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Alpaugh as Laton made off with a 39-17 victory. That 22 points margin sets a new team best for Laton this season.
Laton can attribute much of their success to Valerie Silva, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Silva has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Perez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Laton's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Alpaugh, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Laton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tranquillity at 4:30 p.m. on January 17th. Tranquillity comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Alpaugh will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kings Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 30th.
