Heritage and Liberty are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Heritage beats Liberty with seven runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Patriots put the hurt on Antioch with a sharp 7-1 victory on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won five contests in a row.
JJ Kinnaird made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Kinnaird was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other pitching news, Kalil Gray looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Alonzo Alvarez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Liberty entered their tilt with Soledad on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Aztecs 11-3. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Alejandro Hernandez-Leypon looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sean Kelly was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Stevie Wellens also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Liberty pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their record now sits at 18-4.
Heritage might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Liberty in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
