After losing to the Twin River Titans the last time they met, the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Neligh-Oakdale snuck past Twin River with a 44-39 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Neligh-Oakdale.
Neligh-Oakdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Horstmann out in front who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Horstmann also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Mallory Belitz, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Neligh-Oakdale's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Twin River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Neligh-Oakdale will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Niobrara/Verdigre at 6:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hopefully Niobrara/Verdigre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. Twin River will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
