The Old Forge Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Mid Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Old Forge is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Old Forge was beaten by Dunmore 66-13.
Even though Mid Valley has not done well against Lakeland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Mid Valley took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 56-25 victory over Lakeland. Mid Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.
Elise Larson and Krista Cortazar were among the main playmakers for Mid Valley as the former scored nine points along with eight assists and two steals and the latter scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Cortazar hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Parker Bennett, who scored six points along with four steals.
Old Forge now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Mid Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Old Forge took a serious blow against Mid Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 45-14. Can Old Forge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
