The Rocklin Thunder will head out to challenge the Oak Ridge Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Rocklin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Rocklin's victory against Franklin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder skirted past the Wildcats 5-3. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Rocklin got a great performance from Jeremiah Barrett as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Rocklin's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Paranick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Paranick a new career-high. Another was Roman Castellanos, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Rocklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to Granite Bay.
Oak Ridge also got a good showing from Ben Ransi, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs Ransi has allowed since back in March.
On the hitting side, Jasen Womack was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Oak Ridge is 2-1 when Womack posts two or more runs, but 7-14 otherwise.
Rocklin pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Oak Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.
Everything went Rocklin's way against Oak Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Rocklin made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
