The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will challenge the Victor Valley Jackrabbits at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Bonaventure comes in on five and Victor Valley on four.
St. Bonaventure will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Foothill Tech on Tuesday. The Seraphs walked away with a 14-9 win over the Dragons.
St. Bonaventure got a massive performance out of Wyatt Richardson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Richardson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Seamus Sipe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, Victor Valley got themselves on the board against Silverado on Thursday, but Silverado never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Hawks. That's two games straight that the Jackrabbits have won by exactly two runs.
Not much got past Tyler Aguliar, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Silverado off the board. Aguliar also tossed no walks, which is notable because Victor Valley is 6-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Matthew Yepez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.
Victor Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
