Baseball Recap: Hamilton Starts Season with Win on the Road

Hamilton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Oroville Tigers 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Braves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Antonio Jauregui made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Jauregui was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jackson Alves was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Oroville's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will be taking part in a tournament against Oroville at 10:00 a.m. on March 7th. As for Oroville, they will venture away from home to challenge Willows at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
