The Yuba City Honkers will face off against the West Park Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Yuba City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Yuba City is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Woodland on Friday as Yuba City made off with a 14-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Honkers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won eight in a row.

Brody Miller made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Yuba City let Brandon Pelechowicz and Julian Garcia run wild. Pelechowicz scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Garcia scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those runs were Garcia's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Lane, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Yuba City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Whitney, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 29, 2024.
West Park saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Peck, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
West Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Yuba City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
West Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Yuba City has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for West Park, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Yuba City keep running through batters, or will West Park buck the trend?
Yuba City came out on top in a nail-biter against West Park in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will Yuba City repeat their success, or does West Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
