Servite is 0-10 against the Lions since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Servite Friars will head out on the road to take on the JSerra Catholic Lions at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Servite has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while the Lions will arrive with five straight victories.
Last Tuesday, Servite was the victim of a rough 68-46 loss at the hands of the Lancers. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Servite in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Alex Pak put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points along with two steals.
Servite struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, JSerra Catholic strolled past the Eagles with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 49-32. Given JSerra Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Eagles are ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Servite has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for JSerra Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.
Servite was dealt a bruising 83-56 loss at the hands of the Lions in their previous matchup back in January. Can Servite avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
