Leigh has gone a perfect 3-0 against Milpitas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Leigh Longhorns are taking a road trip to take on the Milpitas Trojans at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Leigh barely beat Evergreen Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Leigh put the hurt on Evergreen Valley with a sharp 9-1 win on Tuesday. The Longhorns not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024.

Dylan Christian made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.
In other pitching news, Cooper Low tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
Back at the plate, Damian Hernandez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Michael Mogannam, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Leigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Milpitas hadn't done well against Westmont recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Milpitas walked away with a 7-4 victory over Westmont. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
The team relied heavily on Caleb Millan, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Isaiah Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Leigh's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Milpitas, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Leigh has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Milpitas struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Leigh took their win against Milpitas in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 13-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leigh since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
