Oakwood barely beat Buckley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Owls put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 9-2 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Oakwood, bringing their record up to 13-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Buckley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6-1.

Looking ahead, Oakwood is taking a road trip to square off against Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Owls' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Buckley, they will welcome Canyon at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
