The Sacred Heart of Jesus Comets and the Adelanto Saints squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Sacred Heart of Jesus Comets had to settle for second. Their tough 58-36 loss to the Saints might stick with them for a while. Sacred Heart of Jesus was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Despite the loss, Sacred Heart of Jesus still got an impressive performance from Xitlali Botts, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Botts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michelle Canete, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-13. As for Adelanto, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
Sacred Heart of Jesus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Adelanto, they will square off against Loara at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Adelanto comes in on three and Loara on 12.
