Tulelake is 8-2 against Hayfork since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Tulelake Honkers will head out on the road to take on the Hayfork Timberjacks at 4:00 p.m. Tulelake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Tulelake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Surprise Valley with a 46-42 win.
Tulelake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Frey led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Frey also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Perez, who scored 15 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Hayfork posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 39-19 margin over Dunsmuir. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hayfork.
Tulelake's record is now 8-11. As for Hayfork, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Tulelake couldn't quite finish off Hayfork when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 39-37. Can Tulelake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
