The Corona Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 67-34 loss at the hands of King. While losing is never fun, Corona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Wolves are ranked 115th).
Despite the loss, Corona still got an impressive performance from Gabriela Castro, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castro has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ava Liaga, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Corona's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for King, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-8.
Corona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. King will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sharks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Santiago will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
