The Myers Park Mustangs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 66-38 stomp they got on the road against Garner. Considering Myers Park has won four matches by more than 20 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sadiq White Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bishop Boswell, who scored 15 points along with seven assists.
Myers Park's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Garner, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Myers Park won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Millbrook at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th. Millbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Myers Park likes a good challenge. Garner won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Highland at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. Highland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Garner in their respective states (Highland is ranked 14th in Virginia, while Garner is ranked 97th in North Carolina).
