Softball Recap: Lanier Wins Going Away Against Norcross

Lanier barely beat Norcross the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 14-4 win on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2016.

The team relied heavily on Sanai Hampton, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophia Roche, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Lanier's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Norcross, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Lanier will head out on the road to square off against Grayson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Norcross, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Forsyth Central at 7:00 p.m.
