University had won nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 20-2 to make it ten. Everything went their way against the Resurrection Christian Cougars as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jasi Cole was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Bergen Duarte was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Mia Whitcomb also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Resurrection Christian only posted a batting average of .200.
As for Resurrection Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Resurrection Christian's side, Portia Hattig made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
