The Redwood Rangers are taking a road trip to square off against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Redwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Mt. Whitney 71-36. The Rangers have beaten the Pioneers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pioneers has come to flipping the script.

It was another big night for Jazmaine Stewart, who went 9-for-11 en route to 22 points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Brooklyn Tayo was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.
Redwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Sierra Pacific had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-23 win over the Lions. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 39 points or more this season.
Redwood better focus on containing Apajok Ayuen and Asia Jackson as the pair were huge in Sierra Pacific's win. Ayuen went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points and three steals, while Jackson went 8-for-18 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Ayuen also posted a 83% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Nyang Ayuen, who posted nine points.
Sierra Pacific pushed their record up to 19-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points over those games. As for Redwood, their record now sits at 15-13.
Redwood came up short against Sierra Pacific in their previous meeting back in December of 2015, falling 60-54. Thankfully for Redwood, Kalea Bush (who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
