Pelion is 0-10 against the Rebels since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pelion Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Strom Thurmond Rebels at 5:00 p.m. Pelion is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Pelion came up short against the Predators and fell 28-20.
Meanwhile, Strom Thurmond was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past the Panthers 51-11 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Strom Thurmond.
It was another big night for Katlyn Chinn, who scored 19 points along with four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Lowe, who scored six points along with three steals.
Pelion has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Strom Thurmond, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Pelion was dealt a bruising 55-19 loss at the hands of the Rebels in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chinn, who scored 21 points along with seven assists and seven steals.
