There's no place like home for Great Oak, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-8  victory over the Murrieta Mesa Rams  on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Wolfpack: when they faced off against the Rams  on Tuesday, they had to take a  4-0  defeat.

 Tyler Bussey and  John Boer dominated on the mound. Bussey  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit, while  Boer  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  Boer posted two  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April.
 At the plate, Great Oak let  Gavin Fien and  Wes Shanabarger run wild. Fien  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs, while  Shanabarger  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Fien is becoming a predictor of Great Oak's success: when he posts  at  least one  home run the team is 3-1 (and 9-15 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Jack Apodaca, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
Great Oak's record now sits at 12-16. As for Murrieta Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
