It was a good run, but the Grace Christian Academy Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Calistoga. Grace Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Calistoga apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Thursday.
Calistoga found their leader in underclassman Italia Barrera, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karen Queipo, who scored eight points.
Grace Christian Academy now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Calistoga, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy will take on Contra Costa Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Contra Costa Christian has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Calistoga, they will be playing at home against South Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Fork is coming into the game with three straight losses on the road, meaning Calistoga will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
