The Union Mine Diamondbacks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Bella Vista with a sharp 49-24 win on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Union Mine also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Union Mine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Annabella Isham led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Wylie, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and five steals.
Bella Vista lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ellie Thome, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Thome has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Paige Hackman was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six steals.
The victory got Union Mine back to even at 6-6. As for Bella Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
