Basketball Recap: Tacony Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Tacony Academy Charter was the 36-26 winner over Science Leadership Academy at Beeber when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Tacony Academy Charter Lions were beaten by the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber Rockets 52-22 on Wednesday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Science Leadership Academy at Beeber found their leader in sophomore Raegan Wells-Bradley, who almost dropped a double-double on 36 points and nine boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Wells-Bradley has scored at least a third of Science Leadership Academy at Beeber's points. Taylor Haynes was another key player, putting up eight points along with 15 rebounds and three steals.

Tacony Academy Charter dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tacony Academy Charter will face off against Bristol at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, they will venture away from home to square off against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
