The Lansdale Catholic Crusaders put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 55-41 victory over Conwell-Egan Catholic. Given Lansdale Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Conwell-Egan Catholic is ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lansdale Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Mcdonough, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. The match was Mcdonough's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Boccella, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Conwell-Egan Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooke Mcfadden, who scored 16 points. Lily Milewski was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Lansdale Catholic's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Lansdale Catholic will face off against Glen Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Glen Ridge: 30, Lansdale Catholic: 28.7) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they will take on Monsignor McClancy at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
