The Grimsley Whirlies will head out to take on the Page Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, Grimsley was fully in charge, breezing past Ragsdale 43-8. The win continues a trend for the Whirlies in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Grimsley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty Shoemake led the charge by rushing for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 56 receiving yards and one TD. Those 67 rushing yards gave Shoemake a new career-high. Brody Lowe was another key player, having thrown for 266 yards and four touchdowns.
Grimsley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Ragsdale to a completion percentage of just 34.8%. The Whirlies hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.64 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Page). They really took it to Southwest Guilford for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-6 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-6.
Grimsley better keep an eye on Zamari Williamson. He was instrumental in Page's win, throwing for 242 yards and five TDs on only 18 passes. Ike Grainger did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 54 receiving yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Page's defense and their three sacks. Aedyn Buchanan was especially locked on to Southwest Guilford's QB and sacked him twice. Marqui Lynch got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Grimsley's record is now 7-0. As for Page, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Grimsley against Page when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-7 victory. Do the Whirlies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
