They blew past Atascadero, posting a 57-29 win at home. Considering Santa Maria has won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Santa Maria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevaeh Madrigal led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Reyes, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists.
Santa Maria's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Atascadero, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Maria will take on Valley Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Valley Christian Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Atascadero, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sanger at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
