Pine-Richland has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Beaver Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pine-Richland is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Pennsylvania (they are ranked 162nd, while Beaver is ranked 460th).
Last Monday, Pine-Richland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-44 to Norwin.
The losing side was boosted by Madison Zavasky, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Gentile, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Beaver's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Blackhawk 63-22. Beaver has struggled against Blackhawk recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Pine-Richland's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12. As for Beaver, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Pine-Richland strolled past Beaver in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 52-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine-Richland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
