Lincoln High is 0-10 against Grand Island since October of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Links will venture away from home to square off against the Islanders at 10:00 a.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
While Lincoln High's victory against Omaha North wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Links narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Vikings 12-10. The Links haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Ceci Benson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Benson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Evie Becher was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Nora Davy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, while Grand Island put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Lincoln High. The Islanders put the hurt on the Links with a sharp 14-0 win. The game marked the Islanders' most dominant victory of the season.
The team relied heavily on Karstyn Zuelow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Avery Hawke, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Grand Island was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln High only posted a batting average of .100.
Lincoln High's record now sits at 7-13. As for Grand Island, their record is now 7-17.
Lincoln High suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Grand Island when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Links avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
