Basic came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Needles, but Gianna Collier wouldn't allow it. The Mustangs blew past the Wolves 58-33 on Thursday for which the team can thank Collier, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Basic lost, don't look at Mia Frias. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points. That was a full 60.6% of the Wolves' points, marking the fifth time in a row Frias has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tiara Tucker, who scored seven points.

Needles' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Basic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coincidentally, Needles and Basic will both be playing Somerset Academy Losee the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
