The North East Grape Pickers and the Corry Beavers will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, North East blew past Iroquois, posting a 57-17 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory North East has managed all season.
Gigi Gaston was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Alaina Rodemoyer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Corry slipped by Union City 48-47 on Monday. The victory was just what Corry needed coming off of a 45-21 defeat in their prior game.
North East pushed their record up to 3-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Corry, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
North East strolled past Corry in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 35-21. Does North East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Corry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
