Baseball Recap: Northeast Sets Scoring Season-High Against Twiggs County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northeast). They put the hurt on the Twiggs County Cobras with a sharp 19-5 win on Wednesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Northeast got a massive performance out of Zekendall Williams, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zahkie Denson, who scored three runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Northeast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northeast's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Twiggs County, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Northeast will head out to challenge Dodge County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Twiggs County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
