Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Austin). They snuck past the Washington Eagles with a 51-45 victory on Friday. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 42-31 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Washington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chloe Cleare, who posted 20 points along with five boards and three steals, and Kendyl Harvey, who earned 19 points and four steals. That was a full 42.2% of Washington's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

With the victory, Austin broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Austin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 37-21 win against Houston Math Science & Tech on the 7th. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-29 victory against Kashmere on the 6th.
