Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Peru walked away with it. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Plattsburgh Hornets on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Nighthawks as they're now sitting on 12 straight.
Kalib Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
